The legal basis of data protection is part of the Federal German data protection act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz BDSG) and the Federal German tele-media act (Telemediengesetz TMG).
Access Data / Server Log Files
The information provider (or respectively the webspace provider) collects data on every access to the information (so-called server log files). The access data collected include:
Name / title of the accessed web page, file, date and time of the access, transmitter data volume, report on the successful access, browser type and version, referrer URL (previously accessed page), IP address and requesting provider.
The provider uses data collected in the server log files exclusively for statistical analyses for the purpose of operation, safety and the optimization of the service and information provided. The provider reserves the right to inspect data collected at a later time, if, on the basis of concrete indications, there is reasonable suspicion of possibly illegal use.
Treatment and Handling of Personal Data
Personal data is information by which a person can be identified and details which can be traced back to an individual. This personal information includes name, email address or telephone number, but may also include preferences, hobbies, memberships or which other websites have been visited.
Personall data is only collected by the provider, processed and possibly passed on if this is legally permitted or the user has given an explicit permission to do so.
When a user gets in touch with the provider (e.g. through the contact form or email) the personal information provided by the user is stored for the purpose of replying and case there are subsequent issues or feedback.
Inclusion of Third Party Services and Contents
It may occur that third party contents are displayed and embedded in an online service, e.g. video clips from YouTube, maps from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites. This is always subject to the user IP address being disclosed to the third party service provider, because without this information the contents cannot be transmitted to the browser being used, i.e. the IP address is essential for the correct display of the content. We endeavour to use only such contents where the respective providers use the IP address for the provision of the contents. However, we have no influence on whether a third party provider stores the iP address, for example, for statistical purposes. Where we are aware of such activities by the third party provider, our users will be informed about this.

Matomo uses so-called cookies, i.e. text files stored on the user computer, which are used for the analysis of the use of the website. The information on the usage generated by the cookies is stored on a provider server in the territory of German. The IP address is anonymized immediately after the processing and before the actual storage of the information. Users have the option of restricting or preventing the installation of cookies on their device by adjusting the browser settings; the information provider, however, would like to inform users that in this case not all functions of the website will be fully functional and available.
